Dundee City Council are going to trial 10 minibooks with Windows OS in Menzieshill HS in Science. It will be fascinating to see the effect on learning and teaching. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Not quite, Bob.
Menzieshill have been using 10 of the Linux minibooks since last summer term. They are very enthusiastic about the built in software. However the original intention was to use them with Glow and this has been difficult because of the IT restrictions you mentioned. They are now using 3 dongles to get at least some Glow access.
The Windows minibooks are to be trialled at St Andrew's Primary - a class set of 28 which will go online; but they will only work if physically attached to the network - so you lose the mobility.
I shall be fascinated to see how the project in Lothian goes.
Do you find this valuable?
